Glideforce Light-Duty (LD) Linear Actuators
The Light-Duty (LD) series of Glideforce linear actuators by Concentric International (formerly Iowa Export-Import) are 12V DC gearmotors that use a lead screw to move a shaft back and forth along its length. The shaft will hold its position even when unpowered and subjected to static loads up to 250 kgf [550 lbs or 2500 N]. Two limit switches safely stop the motor at either end of its range, while integrated diodes allow it to reverse direction after reaching a limit point if the supplied voltage is reversed. The actuators have an all-aluminum frame and extension tube, and the entire case is sealed to protect against dust and water (rated IP65).

These actuators are available in several gear ratios and a variety of stroke lengths, from 2″ to 12″, and with optional potentiometers that are linked to the shaft position, for use in feedback systems. The table below shows all of the light-duty linear actuators we carry:

Mounting brackets made from machined aluminum or stamped steel are available for attaching the actuators to a structure; two are required for each actuator (the aluminum brackets are sold individually while the steel brackets are sold in pairs).

These are our strongest and slowest light-duty (LD) Glideforce linear actuators. They have a 20:1 gear reduction and can lift loads up to 50 kgf [110 lbs or 500 N]. They have a maximum speed of 14.6 mm/s [0.57″/s] at no load and 12.3 mm/s [0.48″/s] at 50 kgf. They are intended for operation at 12 V.
These light-duty (LD) Glideforce linear actuators have a 10:1 gear reduction and can lift loads up to 25 kgf [55 lbs or 250 N] They have a maximum speed of 28 mm/s [1.1″/s]* at no load and 23 mm/s [0.9″/s] at 25 kgf. They are intended for operation at 12 V.
These light-duty (LD) Glideforce linear actuators have a 5:1 gear reduction and can lift loads up to 15 kgf [34 lbs or 150 N]. They have a maximum speed of 43.9 mm/s [1.73″/s] at no load and 36.5 mm/s [1.44″/s] at 15 kgf. They are intended for operation at 12 V.
These are our fastest and weakest light-duty (LD) Glideforce linear actuators. They have a 5:1 gear reduction and can lift loads up to 12 kgf [27 lbs or 120 N]. They have a maximum speed of 84 mm/s [3.3″/s] at no load and 75 mm/s [2.9″/s] at 12 kgf. They are intended for operation at 12 V.

This bracket was designed specifically for the Glideforce Light-Duty (LD) linear actuators. It is machined out of a single piece of aluminum and has been tested to 310 kgf [700 lbs or 3100 N] of static load, which is well above the highest static loads the LD actuators are rated for. The mounting pin has a 0.248″ (6.3 mm) diameter. This bracket is sold individually, and two brackets are required for each linear actuator.

This 10 ft (3 m) extension cable is designed to work with Glideforce light-duty and medium-duty linear actuators with feedback. It consists of five 20 AWG wires terminated on one end with male power and feedback connectors that securely snap into the actuator’s female power and feedback connectors. The other end has the same female connectors as the linear actuator’s cable; you can cut off these connectors and solder the five wire leads directly to your project, or you use crimp pins and crimp connector housings to make your own custom connector.
